How to find your credentials

You can find your credentials in your  PostEngine Settings on the Credentials page.
How you access your settings will depend on which version of the PostEngine software you're using.

If you're using the PostEngine Chrome Extension:

  1. Open Google Chrome, click on the puzzle-piece icon in the upper right corner of the Chrome browser window.
  2. Click PostEngine by Rooof.
  3. Click Settings, it will open to the Credentials page.

If you're using PostEngine for Desktop:

  1. Open PostEngine for Desktop.
  2. Click PostEngine Settings in the bottom left, it will open to the Credentials page.

Understanding credentials

The account information in the Credentials section of your settings page is the email address and password for the Craigslist account that you use to post ads. There is no separate login, PostEngine software uses your Craigslist account to post ads to Craigslist's listing page.

Troubleshooting

I don't have a Craigslist account.

The credentials are wrong, how do I change them?

The Email Address and Password fields are editable. Click in the field and start typing to update the information.

I changed the credentials but they keep switching back to the old ones.

Some management companies choose to have PostEngine store the Craigslist credentials for their properties. Please email help@rooof.com and provide us with the new email address and/or password so that we can update our system!

I don't recognize this email address.

Your team is likely using Email Lead Tracking, our message handling system! This system allows PostEngine to sort and forward all incoming Craigslist emails (lead & robot) for you. To implement this system, PostEngine creates a Craigslist account for you and stores that account information in our database so that you're always logged in to the correct account and emails are forwarded properly.
