Accessing Craigslist Credentials in Property Portal

Overview

PostEngine software uses your Craigslist account to post ads to Craigslist's listing page. Depending on how your property is set up, you may use your own credentials, or PostEngine may store credentials for you automatically. For more information about credentials in PostEngine, please visit our All About Credentials help doc.

Accessing your property’s Craigslist credentials

In Property Portal, if a property has credentials stored with us, you’ll be able to view and copy them from the Property Info page.

  1. Navigate to the Properties section on the left sidebar and select Active Properties.
  2. Find the property you’re looking for by scrolling through the list or use the search bar to find it by name.

  3. Once you’ve selected a property, click Property Info in the left sidebar and locate the Craigslist Credentials section.

  4. Here, you can copy the Username and/or Password. To reveal the password, click the 👁 icon.

Troubleshooting

I don’t recognize the credentials/the domain is not my company address.

Most properties are set up with our Email Handler feature, which generates a dedicated PostEngine-controlled Craigslist account for posting. It's a special forwarding address that will send emails to your lead tracking or property email. This may result in credentials that do not match your company’s email domain. If you have questions about this setup, please reach out to help@rooof.com.

I don’t see any credentials.

If no credentials are listed, your property may not have them stored with PostEngine. In this case, you will need to reach out to your property team and ask them for their Craigslist account credentials.

If you expect credentials to be listed here but don't see them, use the Contact Support feature to submit a request and we will be happy to assist you.

I can’t log in with the credentials.

  • If you are getting stuck at login verification, refer to our Craigslist Login Verification Guide
  • Some properties, depending on their PostEngine subscription type (e.g., Full Service), may not have direct access to Craigslist credentials.

These credentials are wrong and need to be updated.

No problem! Since PostEngine stores credentials, we’ll need to make sure the Username and Password are updated on our end. Please use the Contact Support feature to get in touch and we will be happy to assist you in updating the credentials.
