Installing PostEngine for Desktop


Overview

PostEngine for Desktop is the only software that automates the creation, daily scheduling, posting, and renewal of your Craigslist ads! Setup is quick and easy. Please follow the steps below.

Important Note:

To ensure the automated posting process works accurately and smoothly, it is important to only have one version of PostEngine installed on your computer at a time.

If you’ve previously installed the PostEngine Chrome extension, you will need to remove it prior to installing PostEngine for Desktop. See: Removing PostEngine for Chrome


What you'll need

  • Your device must have Windows 10 version 14316.0 or higher to install the PostEngine desktop application.
  • You will also need the PostEngine for Desktop installation link and your property's activation code. Installation links and activation codes can be requested anytime here or by reaching out to our support team at help@rooof.com

Installing PostEngine for Desktop 

To install, navigate to the Microsoft Store by clicking on the link provided to you by PostEngine. 

1.  Click View In Store

2.  Click Open Microsoft Store.

3.  Click Get

4.  The download will begin. When the process is complete click Open.

5. The activation code has been sent to your property email, enter it here & click Activate. If you can't find your code, please visit our Self-serve Install Page for quick access to everything you need! 

6.  Click Ok

7. We recommend selecting Allow so that PostEngine can send you alerts. 

Success! The download is complete and you have installed your PostEngine for Desktop. You are now ready to start creating and scheduling ads.

When PostEngine for Desktop is Running

  • You'll see the PostEngine for Desktop icon displayed in the toolbar on your desktop. In order for the software to complete its automated tasks, it's important that it's left open and running on your computer. 
  • You may see a series of small pop-up boxes appear in the lower, right-hand corner of your screen indicating tasks that are in progress or have been completed


Troubleshooting 

I don't have my installation link/activation code.

Please visit the Self-serve Install Page for quick and easy access to your installation link and activation code(s) or by reaching out to our Support Team at help@rooof.com.

I don't know my Microsoft Account Login. 

If the Microsoft Store is asking you for a password, you are logged in to a Microsoft Account either directly through the store or through your Windows account. You'll need the password to continue, please reach out to your internal IT Support for assistance.

I can't download the software.

Please confirm that you are running Windows 10 and have permission to download apps from the Microsoft Store. If not, you may have to reach out to your IT support. If you're still not able to install it, please reach out to us at help@rooof.com.

Do I need to log in to Craigslist?

No, you do not. When you start posting/scheduling ads, you will be automatically logged in to the correct Craigslist account. 

Can I install PostEngine for Desktop on more than one computer? 

Yes! You can install the app on multiple computers. Activation codes are property specific and can be used on as many computers as needed.
