Installing PostEngine for Chrome

Overview

This article will show you how to install and activate the PostEngine extension in Google Chrome. You'll need a specific activation code for each individual property you post for. Please contact help@rooof.com or visit our Self-Serve Install page if you need a link or a code.

Installing PostEngine for Chrome

1. Open the installation link in Google Chrome.

2.  Click the blue Add to Chrome button.

3. A box will pop up giving you information about the extension and asking for your permission to install it.  Click Add Extension.

4. The installation process will begin! When it's finished, Google Chrome will prompt you to enter your Activation Code.   Copy-paste the code into the field (Ctrl+V works to paste the entire code). 

5.   Click Activate.

6. Congratulations! You've activated your PostEngine. Click OK to access your PostEngine Homepage.

7. On the Homepage you have the following options:

• Post an Ad - click Go to Floorplans Page to get started with posting.
• Training Documents - click View Training Documents to check out the PostEngine Training Center. From there, you'll have access to help docs, tutorial videos, and more.
• View Reports - click View Reporting/Reports to access Property Portal - our online reporting dashboard. If you need an account created, please email help@rooof.com. For more information, see Getting Started with Property Portal
• Customize Your Posts - click Customize Your Posts to access your settings page and set custom posting options. 
• Add an Activation Code - if you post for multiple properties, you'll need to activate your PostEngine for each one. Click Add an Activation Code to navigate to the Activation tab of your settings page, where you can input an additional code (see Adding & Removing Activation Codes for more info).

Helpful tip: pin the PostEngine extension to make it easy to access! Once pinned, you'll see the PostEngine icon in the top right hand corner of your browser.

Troubleshooting

Can I install the PostEngine extension in Microsoft Edge (or a browser other than Google Chrome)?

No, the PostEngine extension is a Google Chrome Extension and is only compatible with this browser.

I don't know where to find where my activation code.

If your property was recently onboarded or you requested installation information from us, the activation code will be included in the instructions sent to you. If you don't have the code(s) you need, please visit our Self-Serve Install page or email help@rooof.com

Can my team use the same activation code on multiple computers?

Yes, absolutely! Activation codes are property-specific and can be used on as many computers as you'd like.

How do I access my Homepage? 

You can access the Homepage anytime by clicking Home in your PostEngine extension menu.
