Before you start: Installing the PostEngine Chrome Extension

Overview

This article provides instructions on how to create an ad using the PostEngine extension in Google Chrome.

How to post using the PostNow Buttons on your property website

1. Open Google Chrome and navigate to the floorplans/availability page on your property website.

2. The PostNow buttons will appear next to each floorplan/unit. Click the PostNow button to create an ad for the unit/floorplan of your choice.

3. PostEngine will start to pull information from your property website! You may be prompted to confirm your Craigslist credentials, fill in your Craigslist region, or be asked to preview the content of your ad (if you have Ad Preview turned on in your PostEngine settings page).

4. Once you have completed all prompts, a new Craigslist tab will open in Google Chrome and the automation will take over. Sit back and relax while PostEngine creates your Craigslist draft!

Note: if you see Further verification required: Craigslist login verification

After you've completed the verification process, repeat steps 1 - 4 above to start your first post again.

5. When you get to the completed draft, please review it and then  click Publish. You can also use the edit buttons to make any changes to your ad before publishing!

Note: if you're asked to verify your ad by phone: phone verification

6. Success! Your ad is now live on Craigslist!

Troubleshooting

I can't find my Post Now buttons.

Make sure you're in Google Chrome and on the Floorplans or Availability page of your property website. If you don't see the Post Now buttons next to each available unit on the page, please reach out to us at help@rooof.com.

I can't publish my post because Craigslist is asking me to complete ad verification by phone/email.

No problem! This is a security request from Craigslist and it does happen occasionally. There are two types of verification requests, the linked docs will show you how to complete each one: Craigslist Ad Verification, Craigslist Login Verification
