Installing PostEngine for Desktop + Activating Full Service Mode

Overview

PostEngine Full Service for Craigslist is PostEngine's complete Craigslist solution where the team at PostEngine handles the creation, posting, and renewal of your community's Craigslist ads. All you need to do is install PostEngine for Desktop on your computer and keep it running throughout the day! 


Please note!

To ensure the automated posting process works accurately and smoothly, it is important to only have one version of PostEngine installed on your computer at a time. For Full Service, you should only have the Desktop version of PostEngine installed, as having the Chrome version activated at the same time may cause issues. 

If you’ve previously installed the PostEngine Chrome extension, you will need to remove it prior to installing PostEngine for Desktop. See: Removing PostEngine for Chrome


What you'll need

  • Your device must have Windows 10 version 14316.0 or higher to install the PostEngine desktop application.
  • You will also need the PostEngine for Desktop installation link and your property's activation code. Installation links and activation codes can be requested anytime here or by reaching out to our support team at help@rooof.com

Installing PostEngine for Desktop + activating Full Service mode

If you've already installed the PostEngine for Desktop app on your computer, the team at PostEngine will convert it to Full Service mode for you. 
If you haven't installed the app, you will be provided with everything you need to install and activate PostEngine. Installation links and activation codes can also be requested anytime here or by reaching out to our support team at help@rooof.com

To install, navigate to the Microsoft Store by clicking on the link provided to you by PostEngine. 

1.  Click Get

2.  Click Open Microsoft Store.

3.  Click the x to close this window, you don't need to sign in to the Microsoft Store in order to install PostEngine for Desktop. If you're already logged in to a Microsoft account it may ask for your password. Enter it here to log in and continue with the download. 

4. The download will begin. When the process is complete click Launch.

5. The activation code has been sent to your property email,  enter it here & click Activate. If you can't find your code, please visit our Self-serve Install Page for quick access to everything you need! 

6.  Click Ok

7. We recommend selecting Allow so that PostEngine can send you alerts. 

8. Success! The download is complete and you have installed your PostEngine for Desktop and activated Full Service mode. 

All you need to do now is keep the PostEngine app and your computer running during the day, the team at PostEngine will take care of the rest! 


Check your sleep settings

So that the team at PostEngine can manage your community's Craigslist posting you need to make sure that your PostEngine app remains open and that your computer remains on and connected to the internet throughout the day. 

To ensure your device doesn't go to sleep while you're busy with other tasks, please check your sleep settings. We recommend setting it to Never


When PostEngine for Desktop is running

  • You'll see the PostEngine for Desktop icon displayed in the toolbar on your desktop. In order for the software to complete its automated tasks, it's important that it's left open and running on your computer. 
  • You may see a series of small pop-up boxes appear in the lower, right-hand corner of your screen indicating tasks that are in progress or have been completed


Troubleshooting

I can't find my installation link.

No problem! Installation links and activation codes can be requested anytime here or by reaching out to our support team at help@rooof.com

Can I install PostEngine for Desktop on more than one computer? 

Yes! You can install the app on multiple computers. 

My computer/PostEngine app was shut off by accident.

If your computer or PostEngine app is shut off and/or disconnected from the internet, ads scheduled to go out during that period will fail. Service will resume as soon as your terminal is back on and connected to the internet. If you have questions or concerns, please contact our support team at help@rooof.com
